New Fuel Tanks for Toyota 200 Series Landcruisers

170L Auxiliary/Replacement Tanks

Long Range Automotive (LRA) has just released a new replacement tank for the Toyota 200 Series GXL range and an Auxiliary tank for the VX and Sahara models. These new tanks hold a whopping 170 litres which will allow huge travel distances between fuel stops.

Toyota has twin tanks in the GXL models which allows for the replacement tank to be fitted easily while utilising the single fuel gauge fitted as standard. The top 1/3rd of the gauge reads the replacement tank while the bottom 2/3rds reads the standard OEM tank. In other words two senders feed one gauge.

The VX and Sahara tanks are auxiliary tanks, which mean they have an additional LED style fuel gauge to be wired in plus a transfer pump which allows the fuel to be pumped into the original tank.   

The tanks suit both petrol and diesel variants and all three models will require a rear wheel carrier as the spare wheel is moved out from underneath to fit the tank.  Kaymar 4WD Accessories have an integrated bar system available now with a full rear bar under development.

LRA’s kit includes everything required to fit the new tank with minimal fuss. The tanks are manufactured from 2mm aluminised steel, etch primed and finished in silver hammertone enamel.

All LRA tanks come with a 2-year Australia wide warranty.

70L Auxiliary/Replacement Tanks

Long Ranger have released a new range of tanks to suit the 200 Series.  The most popular is the 70L, which enables you to retain the spare wheel underneath.

VX, Sahara & Export Models:

There is an auxiliary tank to suit the VX, Sahara and export models.  This Long Ranger auxiliary tank provides the user with a much needed boost in driving range thanks to a 75% increase over the standard 93lt tank.  Keeping with the original design the spare tyre is retained under the vehicle to give a new total of 163lt.

A new dash mounted LED switch/gauge provides the user with the option to transfer fuel at the push of a button when required, while displaying available fuel in the auxiliary tank.

GXL Model, including Lexus:

There is also a sub-replacement tank which will fit the GXL diesel and petrol models.  The factory twin tank setup utilises one filler, and the main tank has an electric transfer pump mounted inside, which automatically transfers fuel to the sub as you drive.  Both tanks have a sender unit, which the single gauge reads to give a combined total. They are filled via a T Piece.

These tanks are supplied with complete fitting kit and detailed instructions.  They come with a 3 Year warranty and are constructed of 2mm auminium coated steel.
